According to China Economic Weekly, the launch event took place in Hubei in recent days. The organizers describe the machine as the world's first embodied AI robot built on a fully domestic electronic architecture. Its electronic architecture was designed by Kyland Technology as an integrated optimization of four proprietary technologies, with the goal of building a fully domestic technology base spanning AI decision-making through physical execution, and offering an option capable of replacing foreign stacks in their entirety.
Electronic Architecture: The 'Intelligent Nervous System' That Sets the Performance Ceiling
The electronic architecture is the "intelligent nervous system" that sets the performance ceiling for the entire machine, spanning four layers: operating system, networking, tool software, and AI computing chips.
Kyland's fully domestic electronic architecture rests on deterministic computing and deterministic networking. "Deterministic" here means task execution times are predictable and latency has an upper bound, in contrast to the best-effort scheduling of general-purpose computing. Industrial and robotics settings demand this: an action arriving a few milliseconds late can turn a grasp into a collision.
On that foundation, the four technologies were optimized as a single design to achieve isolated convergence of control and AI computing, meaning control tasks and AI inference run in parallel on the same hardware base without interfering with each other.
The Four Proprietary Technologies
- Intewell: a national-level industrial intelligent operating system that has obtained a relatively broad set of international functional safety certifications.
- AUTBUS: an international standard for deterministic buses based on TSN technology, developed under China's leadership.
- MaVIEW: national-level agent tool software.
- A fully domestic AI processor chip.
Advantages Over Legacy Foreign Stacks
Compared with foreign stacks such as Linux/ROS and CAN/EtherCAT, the report lists these advantages: integration of industrial protocols; control and AI inference running together on a deterministic base; millisecond-level coordination between vision and control, with microsecond-level response in low-level motion control; deep integration with industrial agents; and a rebuilt intrinsic safety mechanism inside the robot.
The technical direction closely tracks the physical AI concept recently put forward by MIT, the company says, pushing intelligence from model output toward deterministic physical action.
Third-Party Safety Validation Under Extreme Conditions
Testers from the National Industrial Information Security Development Research Center ran technical validation on the robot. Under joint damage, network attacks, and virus implantation, robots using conventional electronic architectures suffered circuit failures, abrupt shutdowns, and loss of system control, while Kyland's fully domestic electronic architecture robot passed the stringent safety tests and kept running safely.
According to the company, this demonstrates the fully domestic electronic architecture's capabilities in real-time control, fast response, fault isolation, attack resistance, and system security. The architecture is positioned to draw rigid safety boundaries around a robot's autonomous behavior, ensuring it does not disrupt production or endanger personnel, forming what the company calls a harness for steering physical AI.
Since 2016: A Gradual Path for Technology and Ecosystem
Kyland began work on electronic architecture technologies as early as 2016, with several milestones carrying different weight:
- Intewell took on a national-level robot operating system program, providing unified low-level software support across robotics, semiconductors, aerospace, and machine tools.
- The AUTBUS standard became the world's first IEC international standard for a two-wire broadband industrial bus based on TSN technology, developed under China's leadership, addressing highly reliable deterministic communication across large numbers of nodes and devices.
- MaVIEW, industrial software serving as a physical AI actuator, won a technology innovation award at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in 2020 alongside Siemens' industrial brain, MindSphere.
The industry timeline runs as follows: in May 2025, the Intewell operating system launched with an architecture merging a robot's "large brain" and "small brain"; in April 2026, Kyland joined the Shenzhen Robotics Association, the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center, UBTECH, and others to push for a consortium on domestic robot electronic architecture; in September 2026, it launched an alliance for domestic embodied AI robot electronic architecture with industry partners including Tsinghua University, AgiBot, LimX Dynamics, and Moore Threads.
